Chiropractic care for infants can be beneficial in addressing several common ailments affecting babies. Many newborn infants have unexplained crying behaviours (colic) which are difficult to diagnose and even more difficult to treat. Increasingly scientific evidence is showing support for Chiropractic care as gentle non-invasive method to address chronic, unexplained crying in infants.
A recent study published in 2012 in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiologic Therapeutics indicates that "Chiropractic manual therapy improved crying behavior in infants with colic". Treatment of unexplained crying in infants involves very gentle fingertip pressure most commonly over the spinal joints in the mid back (thoracic) region of the spine. Parents of babies with unexplained crying behaviours (colic) often report a decreased amount of daily crying hours once their infants are receiving chiropractic care.

Children & Teens
Children and teens like adults, are prone to typical wear and tear on their bodies as they grow and develop. Periodic spinal checks especially focused on the pelvic region can help to keep restricted joints moving properly and can prevent future injuries to hips, knees and ankles during growth spurts and during regular recreational activities.
While receiving chiropractic care, many young patients report decreased growing pains in their leg muscles during growth spurts, improved athletic performance and a decreased frequency of injury to knees and ankles due to their body functioning at more optimal levels.
